ONE OF THE main and preoccupying innovations brought about by the TRIPS/WTO agreement was the expansion of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) regimes to all areas of technology, with no exemption, encompassing subject matters that have been traditionally excluded, eg genetic resources.
